PIM backup question...
First off I just want to thank everyone on this fourm for all the bits of wisdom and software. If I hadn't stumbled upon this site when I got my Tilt I probably would have returned it because I couldn't figure the damn thing out. Secondly I want to let you know this question is about a friend of mines HTC Touch (a.k.a. Sprint Touch) I wanted to post here because noone posts at the Touch forum.

All right now that I have explained myself here is my question....

My friend wants to upgrade his HTC touch to WM 6.1 and he is trying to back up everything on his phone (messages, contacts, etc....) and I was wondering if PIM backup would work across different ROM upgrades. I know people (including myself) have had problems with the Sprit Backup, so I wanted to know if he is save backing up with PIM or if he will face the same problems?

Thanks in advance and thanks again for all the help!!!!

i would consider resco backup. it archives user selected files and data in zip format so you can extract the data into another device in a more effective manner.

pim information is synced to your computer. so long as you sync pim data to outlook, you wont need to worry about loosing it when you change or add a new device

Optimus,

I used PIM Backup for my contacts with no problems. After flashing the new ROM, the only contacts on my Tilt were the few I have saved on my SIM so, PIM worked for me.

I also ran into problems with restoring from Sprite Backup. I now use Spb Backup and have no problem saving or restoring Any
contacts, tasks, etc.
